My brain is melting

My dreams have been becoming increasingly bizarre. Just the other night I had a dream in which I had a falling out with a friend who said to everyone but me that I had said some very hurtful things. In typical fashion, I confronted this person and simply stated that if you have a problem with me, say it directly to me because that's how things get taken care of. If the root of the supposed problem isn't aware of the supposed problem, a resolution to the supposed problem isn't exactly easy. It's the whole avoiding confrontation thing but I digress.

I can't remember the last time I had a vivid dream but this one seemed extremely real. It seemed so real, in fact, that I screamed in my dream. That part of the dream seemed so real to me that I woke up around 4 AM convinced that I had actually screamed in my sleep. I'm not talking about a muttered mumble but a full-out anger-filled scream because, sadly, it's what I do.

I even considered askign my old lady if I had screamed in the middle of the night. It bothered me so much. It wasn't so much about the dream any more but whether or not I had actually screamed aloud. I figured if I had actually screamed my old lady would have definitely let me know about it, endlessly prodded me about the scream and then proceeded to mock me endlessly about how crazy I'm becoming.

But she said nothing so I said nothing. It just makes life easier that way.

MinnPics is where the last shreds of my sanity are used. Awesome photos from all over Minnesota from people who are surely more sane than me.

My dreams suck

No, I'm not talking about the dreams of my future. I'm talking about the dreams that happen while I am tossing and turning in bed, running in my sleep and eventually waking up with the covers on the floor and my feet stuck in the wrought iron adornments of my headboard.

My most recent dream seems to be centered on current events.

If you haven't noticed, gas prices are hovering around two bucks per gallon. But my fear is that what goes down must go up. This may have led to my dream.

I just remember bieing totally livid after driving to work having seen that gas prices had, overnight, risen to a low of $3.64 (yes, my dreams are precise) to a high of $8.98 per gallon at a Shell station next to my office.

The reason I knew that this was a dream is that there is no Shell station near my office. Hell, there's no gas station (outside of a shaddy looking Oasis Market) within a few blocks.

While this dream had me checking the prices as I drove to work, I have to wonder what's next. Will I be swimming in a pool of liquified poop? Will I find myself placing hog's feet in jars? Will I be smothered under a large, smelly, greasy woman desperate for my afftection?

Only time will tell.

File under weird

As my wife slowly made her way to the bathroom a few minutes ago, she confessed that she had a rather odd dream at some point during the night. Hers boiled down to the fact that she gave birth to a 12lb. 8oz. baby. Uncomfortable indeed.

I don't know where that places two of my more memorably odd dreams but they all qualify as strange. If you care, my most memorably messed up dreams were me being chased by a furnace (I think that this one was fever-induced) and the second was me being chased by a roast beef sandwich from Hardee's.

But none of these compare to one which a co-worker shared recently about her ex. His recurring dream was of him drowning in a bowl of noodles.

But I have a feeling that others have some even more bizarre dreams. So 'fess up, what's you most bizarre dream?
